Amplitude dependences of internal friction delta and the elasticity modulus defect DELTAM/M have been measured in parallel in zinc single crystals of three different orientations. The amplitude dependence of the ratio of the mentioned quantities, r, has been obtained. Consideration of experimental data thus obtained and comparison to the Granato-Lucke theory allowed to establish the non-string mechanism contribution to non-elastic phenomena and to explain the anomalous behaviour of the ratio r.
