The "apparent" pKaa values of two indicator dyes, decylfluorescein and 2,6-diphenyl-4-(2,4,6-triphenyl-1-pyridinio) phenoxide, are determined spectrophotometrically in the suspension of liposomes composed of phosphatidylcholine and diphosphatidylglycerol (18:1, mol:mol), as well as in micellar solutions of nonyl phenol 12, Tween 80 and sodium dodecyl sulfate. The pKaa values of dyes, bound by liposomes, are intermediate between those in the case of micelles of non-ionic and anionic surfactants.
