A new technique for forming holographic grating has been
proposed using the effect of the laser single beam on the light-sensitive
layer deposited on the plane-parallel ZnS crystal plate containing
packing defects. The technique is based on an existence of additional
light beams in both reflected light and that transmitting through
the crystal arising due to the laser beam reflection from boundaries
of different polytype layers. The technique simplicity makes it possible
to form gratings of various small periods (upto 4000 grooves*mm-1).
The gratings can be used as test references in optical and electron
microscopy.
